Arthritis? Memory Loss? Wrinkles? You aren't drinking enough water!

I am reading an excellent book by a doctor named Don Colbert called The Seven Pillars of Health. In the first chapter he discusses water intake. You can search inside this book here.

You need water! If your body doesn't get enough, your organs will steal the water it needs to function from other body parts.

"Cartilage is about 5 times slicker than ice, and that cartilage is made up of 80 percent water. If the cartilage is robbed of fluid, the joints will eventually creak, crack and pop, like a door on a rusty hinge. The increased friction causes them to degenerate quicker, eventually leading to arthritis."
Makes sense!

When he gets a patient complaining of arthritis, He tells them to drink water. He recommends 4 quarts a day.  You should at least be drinking half of your body weight in ounces of water. So if you are 200 pounds, 100 ounces of water!
I drink that but am hard on my body with working on warehouse floors and exercising, also having been a gymnast in my younger years, and I had a car accident where I was hit head on, my joints are shot!  I am going with his 4 quarts theory and it has helped. I don't believe in masking ailments with pills. I don't take pills. If I had to, to save my life, I would probably break down and take them, but for pain and suffering, I have always looked for alternatives.

Another of the many ailments caused by not getting enough water is wrinkles. Your organs will take it from your skin too.  He says we are born about 80% water and whereas older people are less than 50%. Why is this?

As we age, we sometimes lose that sense of thirst. We ignore it so often, that the urge disappears, or we are trying to quench it with junk that robs your body of the thing it needs most!

Drinking enough water can help with so many ailments, things like, join pain, arthritis, high blood pressure, digestive problems, asthma, Water helps revive your cells, helps you lose weight and increases memory.

Of course, your quality of water matters, you don't want chlorinated, fluoridated water. Pesticides, chemicals, none of that!  If you live in a place that puts this into your water and most people do, you want to get yourself a water pitcher that filters it.  Or better yet, a whole house filter system.

I am lucky to live in an area where we are still aloud to have wells. I live high on a hill and the farms are far below us, no fluoride or chlorine, but we still have a ultraviolet light on the well and two house filters before it reaches our faucets.  Our water tested great and the woman that was born in this house sold it to us at age 91, still living a healthy life. But due to pesticides the neighbors may be using, we filter it as best we can.

Can you believe we need a permit to replace an existing dilapidated fence in our yard, but they can freely spray their yards and shrubs with crap that the landscapers have to wear masks to apply?  Something is seriously wrong with society!

This is an amazing book where he not only touches on water, but also sleep, living foods, exercise, detoxification, nutritional supplements, your body's pH and coping with stress.

It is written in a 50 day journey that you read one entry per day. It only takes a few minutes and it will change your life for the better.
